PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field team returns to action this weekend as they head down to Florida for the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida at the James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track.

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field team returns to action this weekend as they head down to Florida for the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida at the James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track.

- Action begins for the Panthers on Friday at 2:30 pm with the men's long jump and will conclude at 7:20 pm with the men's 400m hurdles.
- Saturday action kicks off at 12:00 pm with the women's 100m hurdles prelims and concludes at 6:10 pm with the men's 4x400m relay.
- The most impressive performance of the weekend for the Panthers came in the men's 3000m steeplechase at the Raleigh Relays as senior Josh Higgins was able to break his own school record while notching the third place finish. Higgins battled throughout and crossed the finish line with a personal record time of 8:44.31, breaking his own school record by a half of second. His time currently leads the ACC and ranks fourth in the NCAA in the event.
- Emily Brown also had a strong showing in the 3000m steeplechase in Raleigh as she posted the second-best time in program history, crossing the finish line in 10:25.39.
- At the Texas Relays, senior Cobe Wiggins posted his best showing in the decathlon in his college career as he finished in 12th place with a score of 6,829 points. It marked a new personal record score while also being the third best in program history and best in the ACC so far this season.
- The Panthers had a trio of distance runners post top-10 marks at the Raleigh Relays as senior Tyler Rollins was able to record the third best time in program history in the grueling 10000m run. Rollins fought through the event and crossed the finish line with a personal record time of 29:37.54 as he became just the third Panther to break the 30-minute mark in the event. Luke Henseler had a career-best run in the 5000m run as he posted a time of 14:13.66, the fifth best time in program history in the event. Evan Addison moved into 10th place on the all-time list in the 1500m run as he posted a personal record time of 3:47.05.
- In the long jump in Texas, transfer Clement Campbell had his best showing as a Panther as he was able to collect the fourth place finish with a season-best leap of 24'4.25" (7.42m). His jump marked the sixth best in program history in the event.
- Noah Walker had another strong showing in the hammer throw in North Carolina as he was able to secure the fifth place finish with a heave of 203'11" (62.15m) while sophomore Daniel Amaya finished in 11th place with a personal record throw of 194'7" (59.30m). Amaya's toss marked the third best in program history in the event.
- Pitt returns to the track next weekend as they head down to Durham, NC for the Duke Invitational from Thursday, Apr. 7 until Saturday, Apr. 9.
