Pitt Drops Series Finale 7-1 at Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Pitt baseball (10-10, 1-5 ACC) dropped the series finale 7-1 at Virginia Tech (11-7, 2-4) Sunday afternoon at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park.
The Hokies grabbed the lead with a one-out solo homer in the second inning, doubled their lead in the fourth when an error of a hit allowed a runner to score from second base and got a third run the next inning on a two-out RBI-single.
Pitt got on the board in the seventh inning with a one-out solo homer to right field from Kyle Hess, his sixth of the season.
Virginia Tech grew its lead with two runs in its last two trips to the plate.
The Panthers return home for a Wednesday 3 p.m. matchup against Kent State.
