Panthers to Compete in Cavalier Invitational

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh is sending a select number of swimmers to compete in the University of Virginia's Cavalier Invitational slated for Friday, Feb. 4-6 at the Aquatic and Fitness Center in Charlottesville.
The Panthers will be one of seven schools competing, facing competition from ACC rival and host Virginia, John Hopkins, Richmond, James Madison, George Washington, and William and Mary. Virginia's women's team is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation by the CSCAA, while the men's team sits at No. 18.
Senior Alyssa Conley, junior Maddie London, sophomore Afrodite Agathokleous, and freshmen Emily Ally, Sydney Atkins, Sophie Knepper, and Avery McFaddin will compete for the women. On the men's side, sophomore Ethan Neff and freshmen Wesley Kephart, Paul Lerro, and Jordan Smolsky will race for the Panthers.
Prelims will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with finals starting at 6 p.m. both days. On Sunday, prelims begin at 10 a.m., with finals at 4 p.m. Finals will consist of two heats, a consolation final and a championship final. Live results will be available on the MeetMobile app.
