Panthers Set to Host No. 2 North Carolina in First ACC Game Thursday

PITTSBURGH – The inaugural season of Pitt Lacrosse resumes Thursday, Feb. 24 at Highmark Stadium when the Panthers host No. 2 North Carolina. The opening draw is set for 4 p.m. with the game airing on ACC Network.

Pitt continued their winning ways last weekend, with a 12-5 victory over Siena and a 22-8 win against St. Bonaventure. Kate Elam led the Panthers with nine points, including eight goals and an assist. Paige Petty added six goals, two assists in addition to 12 draw controls. Goalie Paulina DiFatta recorded 14 saves in the two games, while Chloe Jones and Allyson Trice each collected two caused turnovers.

North Carolina, NCAA Final Four participants last season, is 3-0 on the season and is 56-6 in its last 62 games against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents (regular season and postseason). The Tar Heels have won five consecutive ACC Tournaments.

Pitt heads on their first road trip of the season after Thursday's contest to face Canisius in Buffalo, N.Y., Sunday afternoon.
