WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Pitt women's basketball team (7-6, 0-2 ACC) fell on the road Thursday night to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons by the score of 66-51. With the loss, Pitt falls to 0-2 in ACC play on the year.
Amber Brown led the way for Pitt with 12 points, six rebounds and two steals while Gabby Hutcherson came off the bench and netted 11 points, three rebounds and two assists in the loss. Liatu King finished with nine points and five rebounds while Dayshanette Harris had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in the loss.

FIRST QUARTER
- Liatu King started the scoring with a leaner in the lane before Maliyah Johnson netted her first bucket of the game with a layup from a bad angle to make it 4-4 early on.
- Wake Forest scored the next nine points to take the 13-4 lead with two minutes to go in the first quarter before Amber Brown finished off a layup to end the run for the Demon Deacons.
- The Demon Deacons scored the final six points of the quarter to take the 19-6 lead into the second quarter.
- The Panthers were able to get within 12 at the media timeout as Dayshanette Harris finished off a layup and King netted her second layup of the game to make it 26-14 at the timeout.
- After a pair of Wake Forest layups extended their lead to 30-14, the Panthers ended the quarter on an 8-4 run as King finished off a layup and free throw and Johnson ended the half with a contested layup. Pitt entered the locker room trailing the Demon Deacons 34-22.
