
Pitt Men Finish Second Day of Minnesota Invite

MINNEAPOLIS – Six Panthers qualified for the finals in two different events as the Pitt men's swimming team completed the second day of competition at the Minnesota Invite, Thursday night.
In the first event for the Panthers, Wojciech Dutkowiak (4:31.49) finished 23rd overall and Guy Frimis (4:29.01) dropped his time from the prelims and finished 28th overall in the 500-yard free.
The Panthers continued with the 200-yard IM as four individuals qualified for the event finals. In the finals, Goraj (1:47.23) claimed 13th overall, Zorzano (1:48.25) came in 20th, Mahler (1:50.13) finished 29th and Chen (1:51.00) finished 31st.
The second day ended with Dominic Toledo, Krzysztof Radziszewski, Goraj and Flynn Crisci taking 13th overall in the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:19.91. Szymon Pytlarczyk, Derek Zhang, Cooper Van der Laan and Jered Moore (1:22.88) finished 20th while Michael Rine, Wesley Kephart, Paul Lerro and Ethan Neff (1:25.75) came in 21st.
The Panthers return tomorrow with the third day of the four-day meet. Preliminary events are set to begin at 11 a.m. ET with the final events slated for 7 p.m. ET. The top-32 finishers in the preliminary events will advance to the finals.
