No. 25 Panthers Back In Action Monday at Home Against #10 Denver

PITTSBURGH – The No. 25 Pitt men's soccer team (5-3-2, 2-2-1 ACC) returns home Monday night for another ranked matchup as No. 10 Denver comes to town for a non-conference showdown at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Monday's match will kick at 7:00 pm on ACC Network Extra.

- This meeting marks the second all-time between the two programs with the Panthers winning the lone meeting.
- Pitt earned the 3-2 double overtime victory at Ambrose Urbanic Field in 2019 in the first meeting between the two programs.
- Valentin Noel netted the first goal of the game in 2019 as the Panthers notched the dramatic overtime win.
- Denver enters Monday's match with a 7-2-3 overall record and a 2-0-1 Summit League mark after earning a 0-0 road draw at St. Thomas Saturday. The Pioneers are currently ranked No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll and have been ranked for six straight weeks.
- The Pioneers are being led offensively by Sam Bassett who has four goals, two assists and 10 points to go along with a team-high 19 shots. Aidan O'Toole has a goal, a team-high four assists and six points while Ian Smith has two goals, two assists and six points.
- In goal, the Pioneers Isaac Nehme has earned 11 starts and owns a 7-2-2 overall record with a 0.64 goals-against average and a .750 save percentage. He also leads all freshman in the country with six shutouts so far this season.
- The Pitt program has turned into a fixture in the national polls since head coach Jay Vidovich took over the program seven years.
- Pitt is ranked No. 25 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll, No. 14 in the TopDrawerSoccer Top-25 Poll and No. 23 in the College Soccer News Top-30 Poll.
- Pitt has been ranked in all eight United Soccer Coaches Polls so far this season.
- Overall, Pitt has been ranked for 38 straight weeks in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. It's currently the longest ranked streak in the nation.
- Pitt has earned a top-10 ranking in 32 of those 38 straight weeks.
- Pitt has been ranked No. 1 in the poll for eight weeks since the poll started in 1996.
- The Panthers are no stranger to nationally ranked opponents. Pitt has played a total of five nationally ranked opponents through their first nine games of the season for the first time in program history.
- Pitt opened the season with back-to-back wins over top-10 programs for the first time in program history as they downed No. 2 Georgetown 2-1 and No. 6 West Virginia 3-0.
- Pitt is 4-0-1 against top-5 opponents over the last two seasons as they downed Georgeotwn (No. 2), Clemson (No. 2), Duke (No. 3) and North Carolina (No. 4) during the regular season and tied Notre Dame (No. 4) in the Elite Eight last season.
- Overall, Pitt is 6-2-3 against nationally ranked foes over the last two seasons.
- Over the last three seasons, Pitt owns a 10-5-3 record against ranked opponents.
- Currently, Pitt has two more ranked opponents remaining on their regular season schedule including Monday night vs. #10 Denver.
