No. 25 Pitt Welcomes No. 23 Clemson For A Friday Night ACC Clash

PITTSBURGH – The No. 25 Pitt men's soccer team (5-3-1, 2-2-0 ACC) will be looking to get back on track Friday night as they welcome No. 23 Clemson to Ambrose Urbanic Field for a 8:00 pm first kick on ACC Network.

- This meeting marks the ninth all-time between the two programs with the Tigers owning the 6-2-0 advantage in the series.
- The Panthers won the last matchup between the two teams last year by the score of 2-0 on the road. Bertin Jacquesson netted a goal and Valentin Noel collected the assist as Pitt collected the victory over then No. 2 Clemson.
- The two teams have played twice in Pittsburgh with each team collecting a victory. Pitt won the last game at Ambrose Urbanic Field 2-1 in double overtime in 2018.
- Clemson enters Friday's match with a 8-2 overall record and a 2-2 ACC mark after downing North Carolina 1-0 on the road Monday night. The Tigers are currently ranked No. 23 in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll after opening the season as No. 1 in the poll.
- The Tigers are being led offensively by Ousmane Sylla who has netted four goals, five assists and 13 points in eight games while Mohamed Seye has two goals, six assists and 10 points while starting all 10 matches. Isaiah Reid and Marco Garcia each have netted three goals so far this season.
- In goal, the Tigers have two goalkeeper that have each played five games. Joseph Andema is a perfect 5-0 on the year with five cleansheets as he has made 13 saves. Trevor Manion is 3-2 with a 2.20 goals-against average.
- The Pitt program has turned into a fixture in the national polls since head coach Jay Vidovich took over the program seven years.
- Pitt is ranked No. 25 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll, No. 14 in the TopDrawerSoccer Top-25 Poll and No. 23 in the College Soccer News Top-30 Poll.
- Pitt has been ranked in all eight United Soccer Coaches Polls so far this season.
- Overall, Pitt has been ranked for 38 straight weeks in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. It's currently the longest ranked streak in the nation.

- Pitt is 4-0-1 against top-5 opponents over the last two seasons as they downed Georgeotwn (No. 2), Clemson (No. 2), Duke (No. 3) and North Carolina (No. 4) during the regular season and tied Notre Dame (No. 4) in the Elite Eight last season.
- Overall, Pitt is 6-2-2 against nationally ranked foes over the last two seasons.
- Over the last three seasons, Pitt owns a 10-5-2 record against ranked opponents.
