
Panthers Conclude Exhibition Play Wednesday Against Edinboro

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh men's basketball team wraps up exhibition play Wednesday, Nov. 2 against Edinboro in a 7 p.m. tipoff at the Petersen Events Center.
Wednesday's contest marks the first meeting between to two schools on the hardwood. The Panthers have won 38 consecutive exhibition games, including a 103-51 win over Clarion earlier this preseason.
Six Panthers scored in double figures in the exhibition opener as the team topped the 100-point mark in exhibition play for the first time since a 101-33 win over Division III LaRoche Oct. 29, 2011. Blake Hinson scored a game-high 20 points, followed by Jamarius Burton (18), Nelly Cummings (16), Greg Elliott (12), Nate Santos (12), and Federiko Federiko (10). Pitt shot 59.4 percent (38-of-64) from the field and closed the game with 21 assists. The Panthers made 12 three-pointers and shot over 42 percent from beyond the arc in the game.
Pitt is 62-5 all-time in exhibition play with an unblemished 32-0 mark at the Petersen Events Center.
The Panthers open the regular season Monday, Nov. 7 against UT Martin and will also host West Virginia (Friday, Nov. 11) in the Backyard Brawl during the opening week of the season. Season tickets, mini plans and single-game tickets are available through the Panthers Ticket Office.
