
Julianna Dalton Joins 2022 Pitt Volleyball Incoming Class

Fisher Adds Talented Washington State Transfer
PITTSBURGH – Outside hitter Julianna Dalton will transfer to the University of Pittsburgh and join the Panthers' incoming class of 2022, head coach Dan Fisher announced Thursday.
"Julianna is a big time get," Fisher said. "She has played at a high level in club and college and knows how to work hard. We are excited to have her train this spring, getting a head start on the 2022 season. We know she brings a physical presence at the net but is also committed to being an all-around player. We expect Julianna to be have a big impact on our program."
The 6-foot-5 outside hitter hails from Parker, Colo., and spent her freshman season in 2020 at Washington State University, where she was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. She finished second overall for the Cougars in total kills with 151 while appearing in all 16 matches during the shortened season.
"I'm so excited to be joining Panther Nation and such a successful program," Dalton said. "I can't wait to be a part of a team with such an amazing group of women and coaches. Hail to Pitt!"
Dalton had a career-best 14 kills in four different contests, with the last occurring during the NCAA Tournament First Round against WKU in April. She completed the 2020 season raking 25th overall in total kills in the Pac-12. On the year, she averaged 2.44 kills and 0.41 blocks per frame and totaled 33 digs and 45.0 blocks.
Dalton was named the 2019-20 Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year while at Chaparral High School in addition to garnering honors such as Colorado Community Media Volleyball Player of the Year, AVCA Second Team All-America, AVCA All-Region, and Colorado 5A Player of the Year after helping leading Chaparral to a Class 5A state championship.
As the daughter of Matt and Mindy Dalton, Julianna has six siblings, including three sisters, Karlie (Benedictine College volleyball 2011-14), Nicole (Texas volleyball 2012-16) and Katie (Kansas volleyball commit), and three brothers, Hayden (Wyoming basketball 2015-18), Joseph (Olney Central College basketball) and Levi.
