
No. 4 Pitt Volleyball Improves to 10-0 with Sweep

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The No. 4 Pitt volleyball team (10-0, 0-0 ACC) kept rolling with a sweep of Morehead State (4-7, 0-0 OVC) Saturday afternoon on the road at Johnson Arena as part of the Comfort Inn-vitational.
Pitt earned the win by scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-16. It was the Panthers' third consecutive sweep.
Outside hitter Leketor Member-Meneh had a season-best and match-high 14 kills on a blistering .542 hitting and added 10 digs for her second double-double of the year.
Middle blocker Chiamaka Nwokolo went a perfect 6-of-6 hitting for the day and added a match-high four blocks. Outside hitter Kayla Lund produced eight kills on .533 hitting and downed three service aces. Right side Chinaza Ndee had nine kills for Pitt and added two blocks.
Libero Ashley Browske picked up a match-high 18 digs and added five assists. Setters Kylee Levers and Lexis Akeo had 17 and 14 assists, respectively.
Pitt out-matched Morehead State across the board, in kills (45-26), assists (43-26), service aces (6-2), digs (48-33), blocks (8.0-5.0) and hitting percentage (.364-.083).
SET ONE: No. 4 Pitt 25, Morehead State 17
The Panthers hit .478 in the first frame while holding the Eagles to .138 success offensively. A 3-0 run produced set point for Pitt (24-16). An Eagle kill kept Morehead State alive for another point, but Nwokolo was able to put the ball away on the following point to give Pitt a 1-0 lead. Ndee, Member-Meneh and Lund had four kills apiece for the set.
SET TWO: No. 4 Pitt 25, Morehead State 12
After Pitt surrendered the first point, the Panthers found their footing and extended the margin with an 8-0 run. A 7-2 run pushed Pitt's lead to 17-6, and then a 3-0 run sealed the deal with the score at 25-12. The Panthers hit .314 for the stanza while holding Morehead to just .071 hitting.
SET THREE: No. 4 Pitt 25, Morehead State 16
It was another hot start for Pitt, beginning the set on a 6-1 run that included two service aces by Lund. A 4-0 run extended the lead to 11-3. Morehead made up some ground with a 6-3 run to cut the margin to five (18-13), but Pitt was able to stay strong and finish the job with a 7-3 surge, winning 25-16.

The Panthers will open ACC play on the road at North Carolina Friday, Sept. 24, before traveling to Raleigh to face NC State Sunday, Sept. 26. Both matches will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
