
Hermanek Adds Fuerst to 2021 Class

PITTSBURGH – Softball Head Coach Jodi Hermanek announced the addition of Rachael Fuerst to the incoming 2021 class today.
A native of West Seneca, N.Y., Fuerst recently graduated from West Seneca East Senior High School. Fuerst tallied a .320 batting average and helped guide the team to a 10-2 record her freshman year. She batted a career-best .570 her sophomore year, before hitting .330 as a senior.
Fuerst, who has experience at both catcher and third base, was named ECIC First Team Division I and II sophomore year and ECIC First Team Division I, All-WNY Honorable Mention and a Top-10 Player to Watch in the city of Buffalo her senior year.
Fuerst played for the New York Diamond Girls from 2013-20 and most recently for the Jersey Intensity for one year. She ranks as the 44th catcher in the nation for the class of 2021 and ranked in the top-100 recruits for the class of 2021 by ExtraInnings Softball.
Fuerst is the seventh newcomer for the upcoming 2021 season, joining incoming freshmen Kendall Brown, Haylie Brunson, Kylie Griggs, Ana Hernandez, Maya Johnson, Tuta Ramirez and transfer student Yvonee Whaley.
