Men’s 4x400m Relay Team Named Office Depot/Supra Student-Athletes of the Week

PITTSBURGH – The men's 4x400m relay team of Cobe Wiggins, Lonzell Feagin, Matt Wilson and Ade Jones-Roundtree were named the Office Depot/Supra Student-Athletes of the Week following impressive performances an impressive performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The men's 4x400m relay team saw their successful 2020-21 campaign come to an end on Wednesday night in the national semifinals as they placed 18th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., at historic Hayward Field. The quartet earned Honorable Mention All-American honors for their strong performance.
The Panthers quartet ran a strong race in the opening heat of the night as they took seventh place, crossing the finish line in 3:09.97. Overall, Pitt finished in 18th place in the field of 24 talented relay squads from around the country.
Pitt had a strong start in the event as Jones-Roundtree and Feagin ran strong legs to get the Panthers into the fourth position and in striking distance for an automatic qualifying time to the finals. A couple squads finished strong to push Pitt to seventh in the opening heat, the second fastest of the three heats.
They earned Honorable Mention All-American status for the first time in their careers. The four All-Americans are the most for the Panthers since 2016 when they had five earn the national recognition. They are also just the third men's relay squad in program history to be named All-American.
The relay squad wraps up their impressive campaign with a season-best time of 3:06.92, the fifth fastest time in program history. They also earned Second Team All-ACC honors after posting a third place finish at the ACC Outdoor Championships earlier in the year.
