Compson Named NFCA Second Team All-Region

PITTSBURGH – Pitt softball freshman Cami Compson was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team today.
NEWS & NOTES
The outfielder hit a team-best .325 with 41 hits, five doubles, 23 runs and 16 walks. Her .406 on-base percentage and 1.033 OPS led the squad, while she finished second in slugging percentage with a mark of .627.
Compson had a breakout game at the Black and Orange Challenge in Macon, Ga., going 4-for-4 with a homer, double and six RBI. The six RBI were the most by a Panther in a single game since Shelby Pickett totaled six Mar. 30, 2016. She registered six games with two or more RBI.
Compson recorded one of the most memorable hits in Pitt softball history, hitting a two-run walk off homer against No. 6/9 Florida State May 7. The win was the highest ranked victory in Pitt history.
Compson was named to the All-ACC Third Team and All-ACC Freshman team earlier this month.
