The Opening Tip
• Pitt (10-11, 6-10 ACC) opens up ACC Tournament play Tuesday, March 9 at the Greensboro Coliseum against 13-seed Miami (8-16, 4-15 ACC). Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on the ACC Network.
• The Panthers are 6-7 all-time in ACC Tournament play, including a 3-1 mark in first round action. Pitt is 2-2 in the conference tournament under head coach Jeff Capel with a 2-0 mark in opening round contests.
• Pitt ranks second in the ACC (22nd nationally) in offensive rebounds (12.7 orpg.) and rebound margin (+5.38). The Panthers have grabbed 15 or more offensive rebounds on eight occasions and own a +75 scoring margin in second chance points.

• Nike Sibande has been in the starting lineup seven times, including each of the past five games. He is averaging 8.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game with nine three-point field goals in his seven starts this season.

• Justin Champagnie averaged 20.0 points per game on 17-of-30 (.567) shooting from the field in a pair of ACC Tournament contests last season. He scored a Pitt ACC Tournament-record 31 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field in an opening round win over Wake Forest.
• Ithiel Horton went 4-of-6 from three-point range and finished with a team-high 18 points in a 70-55 win over Miami earlier this season. He ranks 14th in the ACC in three-point field goals (1.95 3pg.).

• Nike Sibande has scored in double figures in two of the past four games and is averaging 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game over the past four contests.. He has scored in double figures 78 times in his career and now has 1,536 points, 526 rebounds and 198 three-point field goals in 110 career games.
• Justin Champagnie is attempting to become the first Panther to average a double-double for the season since DeJuan Blair (2008-09). Pitt has not had a player average better than 18 points and 10 rebounds per game since Billy Knight (1973-74).
