
Beckwith, Miller Earn Wins for Pitt Gymnastics at West Virginia

Panthers Drop Series Finale Against Mountaineers
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore Lauren Beckwith and junior Olivia Miller picked up individual event wins for the Pitt gymnastics team (6-10-1) despite a loss to West Virginia (2-7, 0-6 Big 12) Sunday afternoon at WVU Coliseum.
The Mountaineers won Sunday's rubber match by a score of 196.100-193.400. Pitt won the last meeting (Friday), while WVU claimed the first of the three meets between the programs over the last 10 days.
Beckwith earned a career-high 9.875 on balance beam to win the individual title on the event. Miller won the all-around for the second consecutive meet with a 39.125. The Monroeville, Pa., native also garnered a career-best 9.825 on beam.
BARS
Katrina Coca was the highlight for Pitt on bars, taking second place overall with a score of 9.825. Miller followed with a 9.700, then Beckwith and Caitlyn Kline, each scoring 9.400. Freshman Trinity Macy rounded out the lineup with a 9.225. Pitt totaled 47.550 in the first rotation.
VAULT
Miller reached the podium for Pitt on vault, leading the Panthers with a 9.775. Senior Jordan Ceccarini tied her season-best score with a 9.750. A trio of sophomores – Beckwith, Emily Liszewski and Ciara Ward – rounded out the top scores, each posting 9.700. The Panthers totaled 96.175 through two events after a 48.625 showing on vault.
FLOOR
It was Miller on top again for Pitt with a team-best score of 9.825 on floor exercise. Ceccarini followed with a 9.750, then Beckwith and Coca each scoring 9.700. Liszewski completed scoring for the Panthers with a 9.500. Pitt's three-event total was 144.650 following a 48.475 on floor.
BEAM
Pitt had a strong finish to the meet, with three Panthers recording career-high scores on balance beam. Beckwith triumphed with a 9.875, followed closely by Miller at 9.825. Sophomore Christina Weiss had a career-best of 9.650 in just her second appearance on the event. Coca scored a 9.750, and junior Katie Chamberlain recorded a 9.650 in her return to the event after two meets.
ALL-AROUND
Miller earned the all-around crown for the second consecutive meet with a four-event total of 39.125. Coca placed third with a 38.925, with Beckwith in fourth at 38.675.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will serve as hosts for the 2021 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship at Petersen Events Center Saturday. The championship will be split into two sessions (1 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET), both of which will be streamed on ESPN3.
