
Track & Field Heads Down To The Tiger Paw Invite At Clemson

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field team returns to action this weekend down in Clemson, SC as they get set to take part in the Tiger Paw Invite at the Clemson University Indoor Complex. The two-day meet will run from Friday, Feb. 12 until Saturday, Feb. 13.

- Team competing in the Tiger Paw Invite on Friday and Saturday are Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Miami, N. Carolina A&T, NC State, North Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest
- The Panthers will be competing against a number of ranked opponents this weekend including Clemson (Women – 17th), N. Carolina A&T (Men – 6th), Georgia (Women – 3rd, Men – 7th), Kentucky (Women – 11th), NC State (Women – 13th), Tennessee (Men – 11th), Virginia (Men – 20th), Virginia Tech (Women – 16th, Men – 24th)
- The Panthers had another strong showing last weekend in their second meet of the season as they posted a pair of individual victories, five Top-10 All-Time marks and several personal record marks.
- The best performance of the weekend came during the first night of action as senior Noah Walker was able to collect a victory in the weight throw with a new personal record throw. Walker's throw of 68'9.75" (20.97m) is the second best throw in program history and the 17th best in the NCAA this season. Fellow senior Greg Lauray also opened his season with a win in the high jump as he cleared a height of 7'0.25" (2.14m), the second best leap in the ACC and tied for 15th best in the NCAA so far this season.
- The men's mile run produced a pair of runners who earned Top-10 marks as Evan Addison finished in sixth place in 4:03.46, the second fastest time in the event in program history. Sophomore Jack Miller came in seventh place in 4:05.22 which marked the third fastest time in program history in the event.
- Sophomore Laurel Kun had a strong showing in the shot put as she notched a fourth place finish with a new personal record throw of 46'8.00" (14.22m), the sixth best throw in program history in the event.
- In the women's mile run, senior Ally Brunton posted a new personal record time of 4:52.96, the 10th fastest time in program history in the event.
- The Panthers will return to the track next weekend as they head back to Blacksburg for the Virginia Tech Challenge. The two-day meet will run from Friday, Feb. 19 to Saturday, Feb. 20.
