Pitt Opens Indoor Campaign At Youngstown State Icebreaker Friday

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh track and field team will open up their 2021-22 indoor season Friday, Dec. 3 as they head to Youngstown, OH to compete in the YSU Icebreaker. The season-opening meet will be held at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) on the Youngstown State campus.

Friday's season opening meet will have a total of 45 men's and women's teams competing with the meet beginning at 2:00 pm.

The Panthers have a total of 14 men and 20 women competing at Youngstown State on Friday. On the men's side, six Panthers who earned All-ACC recognition during the 2020-21 indoor campaign will be competing in the first meet of the season while on the women's side, both of their All-ACC recipients (Eddita Pessima & Abena Atuobi) will be making their season debuts.

NEXT UP

The Panthers will have over a month off as they will return to the track for their second meet of the indoor campaign Saturday, Jan. 15 as they compete in the Nittany Lion Challenge hosted by Penn State.
