
Pitt Begins 2021-22 Wrestling Season with Clarion Open

PITTSBURGH—University of Pittsburgh wrestling student-athletes will be in action for the first time during the highly anticipated 2021-22 season on Sunday when nineteen Panthers take the mat to compete at the Clarion Open hosted at Tippin Gym.

Representing Pitt at the Clarion Open on Sunday will be the following wrestlers:
Colton Camacho, 125 pounds
Gage Curry, 125 pounds
Jake Cherry, 141 pounds

Dan Mancini, 149 pounds
Tyler Badgett, 157 pounds
Tye Weathersby, 165 pounds
Hunter Kernan, 174 pounds

The Pitt wrestling team, ranked No. 15 in the preseason NWCA Coaches Poll, will begin its 2021-22 dual season next weekend with two matchups on the road.
The Panthers open up at Buffalo on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. and will face in-state foe Edinboro on Saturday, Nov. 13 with another dual slated to start at 7 p.m.
