PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's basketball program announced its promotional schedule for the 2021-22 season Thursday afternoon, highlighted by Deaf Awareness Night (Dec. 1) and the 15th annual Pink the Pete game (Feb. 13).
The Panthers season opener on Wednesday, Nov. 10 will be a season ticket holder welcome back as all season ticket holders are invited to a pre-game happy hour chalk talk with a member of the Pitt coaching staff. There will be refreshments and snacks provided and the chalk talk kicks off at 5:15 pm. All fans in attendance at the season opener will also receive the 2021-22 schedule magnet and schedule poster.
The game on Friday, Nov. 12 will be Health Care Worker Appreciation Night at the Pete as all health care workers and guests will be able to attend for a reduced ticket price of $3 per seat.
A new and exciting promotion for the 2021-22 season will be the Deaf Awareness Night at the Pete. Sophomore Liatu King has a close connection to this promotion as her first language was American Sign Language as her parents were both deaf. In an effort to create an inclusive experience for members of the deaf community, the in-game experience will feature ASL specific elements. Special ASL Pitt shirts will be given out to fans (while supplies last). All Deaf and hard of hearing communities and friends are invited to the Panthers' Inaugural Deaf Awareness Night!
The Panthers' longest running season promotion, Pink The Pete, will be making a return for the 15th season on Sunday, Feb. 13 as Pitt is set to take on Syracuse at 2:00 pm. Pink The Pete shirts will be given away to fans in attendance (while supplies last) as the Panthers raise awareness and funds for those affected by breast cancer. Breast cancer survivors will receive a complimentary ticket to the game and they are able to also claim four complimentary tickets for guests to attend the game.
Other promotions for Panther Nation include Alumni Weekend (Jan. 16, 2022), Holiday Kids Day Out (Dec. 22, 2021), Girl Scout Day (Jan. 23, 2022), National Girls & Women's In Sport Day (Feb. 3) and Fan Appreciation Day (Feb. 27, 2022).
