PITTSBURGH – Pitt baseball will host two games with the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park in the 2022 spring season, the organization and school announced Wednesday. The Panthers will square off against two local rivals on the North Shore, facing the West Virginia Mountaineers on Tuesday, April 19 and then the Penn State Nittany Lions on Tuesday, May 17.
"A special thanks to the Pittsburgh Pirates and their organization for opening their doors and allowing us the play in arguably the best ballpark in the big leagues," said Pitt coach Mike Bell. "A first-class gesture from a first-class organization. We're extremely excited for the opportunity of our student-athletes to compete and create memories of a lifetime against two storied programs, as we continue to play a little backyard ball."
This marks the third season the Pirates will host the University of Pittsburgh baseball team at PNC Park, allowing for a unique opportunity for the community to support local collegiate baseball at The Best Ballpark in America.
Tickets for both games are available and can purchased at Pirates.com/collegebaseball.
