Pitt cruised to the sweep by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-12. The Panthers had advantages in kills (42-31), assists (37-30), service aces (8-1), digs (36-32) and blocks (5.0-4.0). Fittingly, Pitt hit .412 for the match while holding Clemson to .180.

SET ONE: No. 3 Pitt 25, Clemson 18
Pitt cruised to a first set win due to some long scoring runs, including a 4-0 surge that put the Panthers up, 17-11. Clemson fought back with a 3-0 run that put the Tigers within three (18-15), but Pitt was able to hold on and claim a 1-0 lead. Member-Meneh, Ndee and Chiamaka Nwokolo had three kills apiece in the frame as Pitt hit .467.
SET TWO: No. 3 Pitt 25, Clemson 19
The Panthers held an early 7-4 lead, but Clemson erased it with a 6-1 scoring run to take a 10-8 lead. Pitt responded by outscoring the Tigers 11-12, taking back a 19-12 lead. A 4-0 Tiger run closed the margin to three (19-16) but that was as close as Clemson would come. An ace by freshman setter Rachel Fairbanks ended the set with Pitt on top at 2-0 for the match.
SET THREE: No. 3 Pitt 25, Clemson 12
Despite some ugly serving in the third frame, Pitt dominated the whole way through. A 10-2 Pitt run doubled its margin at 18-9. The Tigers would only score three more points as Pitt cruised to a sweep.
UP NEXT
The third-ranked Panthers will return to Pittsburgh for a highly anticipated, Top 5 rematch with unbeaten No. 1 Louisville (26-0, 16-0 ACC) Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House. Tickets are available at PittsburghPanthers.com.
