Fisher Adds California Native to 2022 Class
PITTSBURGH – Pitt volleyball head coach Dan Fisher has added libero/defensive specialist Dillyn Griffin to his incoming class of 2022, as announced Monday.
"Dillyn is going to add a lot to our program, not only depth at the libero position, but also as a person and student," Fisher said. "She impressed us with the improvement in her game in the last year. We couldn't be more thrilled to have Dillyn join our program."
A 5-foot-8 prospect out of Foothill Ranch, Calif., Griffin is the varsity captain at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. She has collected accolades such as the All-Trinity League First Team, an All-Team selection for the Nike Tournament of Champions, OC Register Top 10 Players to Watch, PrepVolleyball Dynamic Defenders and an Under Armour All-America nomination.
"I chose to come to Pitt for the academics and the connection I felt with the team and the coaches," Griffin said. "It felt like a home away from home."
Griffin is the captain for her for the A4 Volley Club team, where she helped lead her squad to third place at Junior Nationals in the American Division 15s.
On the academic side, Griffin has been involved in her school as a Student Ambassador for three years in addition to being a Link Crew member for one year. She plans to major in psychology upon her arrival at Pitt.
