No. 7 Pitt Starts Two-Match Road Trip Saturday at Notre Dame

PITTSBURGH – The No. 7 Pitt men's soccer team travels to conference opponent [RV] Notre Dame for the first of two-straight on the road Saturday evening. Start time is set for 7 p.m. on ACCNX.

- Saturday's marks the 29th meeting between the Panthers and Fighting Irish. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 18-7-3, with Pitt winners of the last three.
- This is the fourth time in two seasons these two teams will meet. The Panthers were victorious in South Bend (3-1/Sept. 26, 2020), in Raleigh, N.C., in the ACC Tournament semifinals (3-1/Nov. 18, 2020) and at home (2-0/Apr. 3, 2021).
- Notre Dame enters Saturday with a 7-4-1 overall record and 3-1-1 conference mark.
- The Fighting Irish are currently on a four-match winning streak and 5-1 at home, with its lone home loss coming Aug. 27 vs. Indiana (3-2 2OT).
- Notre Dame is fourth in the nation - and tied first in the ACC - in scoring offense with 2.83 goals per game. It is also fifth in the country and first in the league with a 21 goal differential.
- Both Pitt and Notre Dame enter as one of the best passing teams in the country, as Pitt is tied for first in total assists (36) while Notre Dame is fourth (34).
- The Fighting Irish are the nation's leader in points with 102. They are also second in both the nation and conference in points per game (8.50), sitting one spot behind the Panthers (8.55).
- Jack Lynn leads the squad with 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists), 32 shots and 16 shots on goal. He also has three game-winners on the season.
- Matthew Roou has five goals and two assists for the year, while Daniel Russo - who was recently named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week - leads the team in assists with four.
- The Panthers earned their third top-five victory of the season Friday, Oct. 9 at home with a 3-2 victory over No. 3 Duke.
- Sophomore Filip Mirkovic scored twice, while classmate Bertin Jacquesson scored the eventual game-winner.
- Freshman Guilherme Feitosa tallied three assists, a mark tied for second at Pitt in a single game.
- Pitt extended its home winning streak to 16 games.
- Freshman Guilherme Feitosa has made a name for himself in the second half of the season, recording seven points in his last three matches.
- Feitosa scored Pitt's first goal in a 4-0 shutout of Cleveland State Tuesday, Oct. 5.
- He tallied a career-high three assists - his first assist as a Panther - in Pitt's 3-2 victory over Duke. The three assists in one match is tied for second in a single-game at Pitt.
- The Rio de Janeiro native has two goals, three assists, 12 shots, six shots on goal in 477 minutes played this season.
- He was recently named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week Oct. 12 for his performance against Cleveland State and Duke.
- The Panthers earned the ranking of No. 7 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll.
- This marks the 27th-straight week the Panthers have been ranked.
- Of the 27 weeks ranked, 20 have been in the Top-5 and 23 in the Top-10.
- Pitt received the ranking of No. 7 in the NCAA's first RPI poll of the season.
- The Panthers have the highest RPI ranking among all ACC schools.
- Notre Dame enters the match with an RPI of 22.
