Track & Field Opens Indoor Campaign At Notre Dame Invitational Wednesday

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh track and field team will open up their indoor season on Wednesday, Jan. 27 as they head to South Bend to compete in the Notre Dame Invitational. The season-opening meet will be held at the Loftus Sports Center.
The three-team meet will feature the host Notre Dame Fighting Irish and ACC foe Louisville. View the full schedule of events HERE and live results HERE.
The Panthers return three student-athletes who earned a podium spot last year at the indoor ACC Championships. Seniors Greg Lauray (high jump) and Noah Walker (weight throw) each finished second in their respective events while junior Eddita Pessima (60m hurdles) posted a third place finish and her first career podium spot at the championships.
In all, Pitt had five (three First Team, two Second Team) All-Conference performers, the most since 2017, and all of which will return this season. The five All-Conference performers from last season were Lauray, Walker, Pessima, Nikki Scherer (400m) and Breanna Phillips (pentathlon).
