Pitt Gymnastics to Face Mountaineers, Scarlet Knights
PITTSBURGH – The Pitt gymnastics team (5-6, 2-3 EAGL) will face rival West Virginia for the third time this season when it visits Morgantown Sunday at 2 p.m. ET in a tri-meet with Rutgers at WVU Coliseum.

RANKING THE PANTHERS
- Senior Michaela Burton is the EAGL's top performer on uneven bars with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 9.845. She has earned the individual title for the event in six of the Panthers' eight meets this season, recording a team-best score of 9.900 against West Virginia Feb. 21.
- Burton ranks second in the league on balance beam with a NQS of 9.840, behind Alyssa Worthington of New Hampshire (9.845). Burton owns the Panthers' top score on the event this season, earning a 9.925 at the George Washington Quad Meet Jan. 31.
LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt recorded a season-best team score of 196.000 in a dual meet at No. 21 Southern Utah Monday night at America First Event Center.
- Despite the season-best score, the Panthers were edged by the Thunderbirds, 197.075-196.000.
- Pitt had season-best scores on three events: vault (49.050), bars (48.850) and beam (49.075).
- Two Panthers reached the podium: senior Michaela Burton placed second on beam (9.875) and third on bars (9.850). Freshman Emily Liszewski had a career performance on vault, placing second at 9.850.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- West Virginia (10-6, 0-2 Big 12) will compete against Pitt for the third and final time this season at Sunday's meet. The tri-meet will serve as a rubber match for the Panthers and Mountaineers, with each team winning one meeting apiece in the season series.
- In the teams' last meeting Friday, Feb. 21, WVU earned the win by a small margin, 194.925-194.575.
- Last time out, West Virginia won a home quad meet with a score of 196.000. The Mountaineers defeated Western Michigan (195.075), Bowling Green (194.225) and Towson (193.425).
- The Mountaineers' highest score of the season, 196.025, came in a tri-meet against New Hampshire and Temple Jan. 26. WVU holds a team NQS of 195.380.
SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
- Last time out, Rutgers finished fifth at the Big Five meet Friday, Feb. 21, in Toledo, Ohio. The Scarlet Knights scored a 193.625 and produced a school record on vault of 49.225.
- Rugters holds a team NQS of 194.045. The Scarlet Knights produced a season-best score of 195.700 in a dual meet at Penn State Jan. 31.
