The men's swimming action at the ACC Championships begins with relays on Wednesday before a full slate of competition takes place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Pitt's roster features some of the most talented and decorated swimmers in the conference, with returning ACC medalists Samy Helmbacher and Blaise Vera among the top contenders for gold medals this week. "We're certainly excited for this week of swimming," Pitt's fourth-year head coach John Hargis said. "The guys know it will be a battle every day for every placement position. This team has trained extremely hard throughout the year for this moment, and we're ready. It should be a great week."
The evening finals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be broadcast via ACC Network Extra, with a 60-minute magazine show with top highlights also set to air on the ACC Network later on.
This week, legendary American swimmer and broadcaster Rowdy Gaines will be joined on the broadcast by fellow on-air talent Matt Schumacker and Melanie Newman at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, bringing fans color from one of top meets in collegiate swimming and diving.
