
Panthers Ready for ACC Championships in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C.—The University of Pittsburgh divers and women's swimmers arrived at the Greensboro Aquatic Center today ahead of the 2020 ACC Championships, which will feature competition over the next four days showcasing some of the best athletes in the conference and the world.
The Panthers are led by fourth-year head coach John Hargis and third-year diving coach Katie Hazelton, along with a solid corps of experienced athletes and newcomers looking to post top times and scores at the ACC Championships.
The meet finals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be broadcast via ACC Network Extra, with a 60-minute magazine show also set to air on the ACC Network. This week, Matt Schumacker, Brooke Bennett, Jason Baumann and Melanie Newman will be the on-air talent at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, bringing fans color from one of top meets in collegiate swimming and diving.

Highlighting Pitt's roster for the 2020 ACC Championships is a quality mixture of experience and youth. Seniors Valerie Daigneault, Sarah Giamber and Madelyn Shaffer are all previous scorers at multiple ACC meets and have dreams of qualifying for NCAAs with strong swims this week. Newcomers Daisy Anderson, Tatum Detwiler, Kate Fuhrmann, Kayla Graham and Emma Wilson will all debut at ACCs, while talented returners Alyssa Conley, Dakota Elliott, Camryn Forbes, Jacqueline Hendrix, Lauren Kelly, Kathleen Lynch, Shahar Menahem, Madison Nalls, Barb Schmele and Kailyn Swantek will provide the Panthers with more scoring potential.
A trio of Pitt divers will also look to score valuable points for both the men's and women's teams. Wesley Ahart, Josh Parquet and Dylan Reed will be keen to boost the Panthers ahead of next week's men's swimming action, while Serena Buchwald, Krista Jones and Amy Read could make a huge difference for the women's team in their efforts this week.
