Pitt Women Set For Home Dual Meet Against West Virginia On Friday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's cross country team will return to action on Friday afternoon as they host the West Virginia Mountaineers for a dual meet at 4:00 pm. Friday's 5K dual will take place at Youthtowne in Clinton, Pa.
Last time out, the Pitt women raced against Navy down in Annapolis and were defeated by the Midshipmen. Senior Ally Brunton led the Panthers in the loss as she was able to post a ninth place finish in 22:48.68 while freshman Caroline Beard made a strong first impression with a 12th place finish in 23:14.40.
Brenda Ayuk and Lily Robertson will be looking to provide the Panthers with strong finishes on Friday while the talented freshmen class will also be looking to make an impact in their second dual of the season. Beard along with Olivia Zambrio, Emily Brown, Sadie Carey-Tharp, Reagan Flannery, Faith Min, Veronica Sanchez, Talia Spillerman, Meghan Thai and Carly Ukalovic have an opportunity to go out and compete ahead of their first ACC meet of their career.
After Friday's dual, the Panthers will have a week off before heading to Cary, NC on Friday, Oct. 30 to compete in the 2020 ACC Cross Country Championships at WakeMed Soccer Park.
