Incoming Freshman Hope Alley and Team West Earn Win in HS All-American Game
IRVINE, CA – University of Pittsburgh softball incoming freshman Hope Alley was selected to compete in the Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) High School All-American Game played Saturday, July 27 at Bill Barber Stadium in Irvine, Ca.
Alley and Team West earned a 6-3 victory over Team East, with Alley seeing time at second base in the contest.
"The game was super fun," said Alley. "It was fun competing with and against the best, and getting to know the other players. I've always played against these girls, but playing with them for a change was a great experience. It was the most fun I've had playing softball in a long time."
The Pleasanton, Calif., native spent the past four years at Foothill High School where she competed in the East Bay Athletics League (EBAL) of the North Coast Section (NCS). Alley and her team collected four EBAL Championships and two NCS Championships, culminating in an undefeated 28-0 season during her senior year. She was also a three-time First Team All-League (EBAL) and All-Section (NCS) honoree while being named to the All-State (CA) Second Team twice in her four years at Foothill.
Alley will join the Panthers for their 2020 season along with fellow incoming freshmen Kayla Lane, Taegen Lewellen, Becca Miller and Makenzie Stiles.
