A Softball Sisterhood
Written By: Taylor Myers
Dear Softball,
The amount of thank you's I owe you are endless. Thank you for being the reason I was the first girl picked for sports teams in my PE classes. Thank you for letting me play in tournaments that turned school days into travel days. Thank you for the blood, sweat and tears you dug out of me to allow me to compete at the highest level. Above all else, thank you for introducing me to a sisterhood filled with the most extraordinary people I've met in my entire life.
You have been my backbone for the last 17 years and I will carry every lesson you've taught me everywhere I go. With the real world ahead, I will no longer use softball as my identity. I will create my own and succeed undoubtedly with the help of the people you've brought into my life over the past four years.
Who I was, who I am and who I'm going to be will always be a reflection of the best friends and sisters I've met along the way. Every ounce of blood, sweat and tears that I've shed, they've shed with me. Every late-night paper, breakup or family issue that I've had, they've been with me. Because of that, every ounce of success that I've earned, they've shared with me.
At the end of the day I have you, Softball, to thank for that. You've brought me the absolute highest of highs and the lowest of lows, but you didn't make me go through it alone, and for that I am forever grateful!
Forever and always,
Taylor Myers
