PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh track and field teams will return to the track this weekend at a pair of different meets. Some Panthers will head down south to the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, TN while the others will head to Lewisburg, PA to compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell. The Tennessee Relays will begin on Thursday evening and run through Saturday afternoon while the Bison Outdoor Classic will begin on Saturday and run through Sunday afternoon.
HOW TO FOLLOW
The Panthers will return to the track next weekend as they head back to Charlottesville, VA to compete in the Virginia Challenge on April 19-20.

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh track and field teams will return to the track this weekend at a pair of different meets. The Tennessee Relays will begin on Thursday evening and run through Saturday afternoon while the Bison Outdoor Classic will begin on Saturday and run through Sunday afternoon.

- The Tennessee Relays will feature some of the best programs in the country.
- The teams participating in Knoxville will be Auburn, Cincinnati, Cornell, Duke, Eastern Michigan, Furman, Illinois State, Indiana, Kent State, Middle Tennessee State, NC State, Ohio State, Penn, Pitt, Southern Illinois, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.
- The meet will open up on Thursday at 12:00 pm as the women's heptathlon and men's decathlon will begin.
- Field events on Friday will begin at 4:00 pm with the men's javelin and conclude with the men's hammer throw.
- Track events will kick off at 9:00 pm on Thursday night with the men's 10,000m run and conclude at around 9:30 pm with the women's 10,000m run.
- The field events will kick things off on Friday as the women's hammer throw will start at 11:00 am. The field events will finish up on Friday night at 7:00 pm with the men's shot put and the men's pole vault.
- The men's decathlon will begin at 2:00 pm and the women's heptathlon will conclude action starting at 3:00 pm on Friday.
- Friday's running events will start at 2:45 pm with the men's 110m hurdles and will conclude at 8:05 pm with the women's 5,000m run.
- Saturday action will begin at 11:00 am with the women's discus and will conclude around 4:30 pm with the men's 4x400m relay.
- The men's decathlon and women's heptathlon will open up action on Saturday afternoon starting at 9:00 am and running through 1:15 pm.
- Field events on Saturday will open up with the men's and women's javelin at 1:00 pm and conclude with the women's high jump at 2:15 pm.
- Track events on Saturday will begin at 2:00 pm with the women's 1500m run and conclude with the men's 10,000m run at around 10:45 pm.
- Saturday's field events will start at 11:00 am with the women's and men's hammer throw and finish up with the men's pole vault at 1:15 pm.
- Saturday's track events will open up with the women's 3000m run at 10:10 am and finish with the men's 4x400m relay at 6:00 pm.
- The Panthers competed in Charlottesville, VA against Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland last weekend and had another successful meet as they collected six victories and four top-10 times.
- Freshman Crockett Schooler picked up the first two victories of his outdoor career on Saturday at Virginia as he won the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles. Schooler notched personal best times of 14.45 seconds and 52.95 seconds, respectively.
- A trio of sophomores were able to claim victories on Saturday at Virginia as well as Nikki Scherer won the 200m dash in a personal best time of 24.23 seconds while Lonzell Feagin notched the win in the 100m dash in 11.03 seconds and Greg Lauray cleared 2.11m to secure the win in the high jump.
- The women's 4x100m relay quartet of Genaya Johnson, Nikki Scherer, Danielle Leaks and Jaylyn Aminu put together their best race of the season on Saturday as they claimed the victory with a time of 45.59, the ninth fastest time in program history.
- In the women's 100m hurdles, a pair of Panthers were able to secure top-10 times. Freshman Eddita Pessima took home second place in the race with a time of 13.79 seconds, a personal best and second best time in program history. In the same race, junior Aysha Muhammad took home fourth place with a time of 13.91 seconds, the seventh fastest time in program history.
- In the women's 400m hurdles, freshman Sydni Townsend posted a second place finish in 59.06 seconds, the fifth fastest time in program history and the seventh best time in the ACC this season.
The Panthers will return to the track next weekend as they head back to Charlottesville, VA to compete in the Virginia Challenge on April 19-20.
