Panthers Prepare for Weekend Finale in Retro Reveal
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh baseball team fell in game two of a weekend series with Virginia Tech, dropping Saturday's contest 16-1 at Charles L. Cost Field.
Pitt (6-11, 0-4 ACC) dropped to a quick deficit against a hot-hitting Virginia Tech team and was unable to mount a comeback, as the Panthers conceded the series to the Hokies.
"Plain and simple, we have to do a better job of attacking the strike zone and pitching with a purpose," said head coach Mike Bell. "Offensively, when we have a chance to strike, like we had our opportunity early, we need to attack the game and not run from it."
The Panthers will close out the series Sunday afternoon, debuting their retro uniforms in a 1 p.m. contest at Charles L. Cost Field.
