
Pitt Posts Season-High Floor Score at NC State

Six Panthers Record Season or Career Highs
RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (5-5, 1-3 EAGL) earned a season-high floor exercise score of 48.950 in a road loss at NC State (6-2, 3-0 EAGL) Saturday afternoon at Reynolds Coliseum.
The Wolfpack remained unbeaten in EAGL contests, topping the Panthers by a score of 196.400-194.825. NC State earned season-high scores in each of the four events.
Senior Charli Spivey led the Panthers with a career-best 9.875 on floor, with junior Alecia Petrikis and sophomore Jordan Ceccarini earning season-highs of 9.825 in the rotation.
BARS
Junior Rachel Dugan and freshman Olivia Miller led the Panthers in the first rotation, each scoring 9.750 on bars. In her season debut for the event, sophomore Haley Brechwald posted a 9.600. As a team, Pitt earned a 48.300, its highest on bars since earning a season-high 48.550 against George Washington (Jan. 26).
VAULT
Petrikis tied her season-high score of 9.825 on vault to lead the Panthers. Brechwald tied for the team-high score at 9.825, with sophomore Sophie Bochenek next at 9.750. Pitt totaled a 48.825 for the rotation, at 97.125 midway through the meet.
FLOOR
Pitt posted a season-high 48.950 on floor, with three Panthers recording season or career highs. Spivey led the Panthers with a career-best 9.875. Petrikis and Ceccarini each earned season highs of 9.825. Pitt scored 146.075 points through three rotations.
BEAM
Junior Deven Herbine and senior Brittany West each scored 9.800 on beam to lead the Panthers. The score tied a season high for Herbine. As a team, Pitt earned a 48.750 on the event to close the meet.
UP NEXT
Pitt will visit regional rival West Virginia for a quad meet against the host Mountaineers, Cornell and Utah State Sunday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. in Morgantown, W.Va. The meet will be streamed live on WVUSports.com.
