Panthers to Close 2019 Regular Season at Petersen Events Center
PITTSBURGH – A perfect ACC slate is on the line for the second-ranked, 2019 ACC Champion Pitt volleyball team (28-1, 17-0) as the Panthers close the regular season against Louisville (19-8, 12-5) at Petersen Events Center Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET on ACC Network.

A WIN WOULD…
- Mark the Panthers' first perfect ACC season since joining the conference in 2013, finishing at 18-0.
- Mark the ACC's first perfect season since Georgia Tech went 16-0 in league play in 2004.
- Sweep the season series against the Cardinals. The Panthers earned a 3-0 decision in Louisville on Oct. 27.
- Improve Pitt's record to 12-14 all-time against Louisville and 8-5 when playing in Pittsburgh.
- Extend the Panthers' win streak against the Cardinals to three matches, with Pitt's last loss coming Oct. 27, 2017, in Louisville (3-2).
- Extend the Panthers' win streak when playing in Pittsburgh against Louisville to four matches. Pitt's lone loss when playing at home against the Cardinals came Sept. 30, 2012 (3-0).
- Improve the Panthers' record to 46-2 when ranked inside the AVCA top 10 and 19-1 when ranked inside the top five.

- With a sweep at NC State Sunday afternoon, No. 2 Pitt completed its regular season road schedule with an 11-0 record.

- No. 2 Pitt secured its third consecutive ACC Volleyball title Saturday, Nov. 16, with a sweep at Duke.
- With the win, Pitt also secured the ACC's Automatic Qualifier bid to compete in the 2019 NCAA Tournament. The Panthers will dance for the fourth consecutive year and for the 15th time in program history.
- With one match remaining in the regular season, the Panthers hold a four-match lead in the league.
ALL-TIME HIGH
- For the fifth consecutive week, Pitt is No. 2 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll, matching its highest ranking in program history.
- The ranking is the highest ever for an ACC volleyball team. The previous high was No. 3, earned by Pitt in 2019 and by Florida State in 2014.
- The ranking marks the 24rd week in program history that Pitt has landed among the top 10 programs in the NCAA, and the 11th week ever in the top five.
- The Panthers are 45-2 all-time when ranked inside the top 10, and 18-1 when ranked in the top five.
- For the second consecutive week, Pitt is No. 5 in the NCAA Volleyball RPI.
LAST TIME OUT
- No. 2 Pitt completed regular-season road play with a sweep at NC State Sunday afternoon at Reynolds Coliseum. With the win, the Panthers secured an unblemished 11-0 record on the road in 2019.
- Junior outside hitter Kayla Lund had a match-high 18 kills on .351 hitting, adding four digs and three assists. Redshirt senior outside Stephanie Williams was the only other Panther with double figures in the kill column with 10, adding eight digs.
- Sophomore middle blocker Sabrina Starks had a match-high six blocks. Freshman Lexis Akeo and redshirt freshman Maddie Soboleski split setting duties, producing 23 and 18 assists, respectively. Redshirt senior libero Hali Hillegas led the Panthers with 12 digs.
- The Panthers were superior on nearly every statistic, leading kills (52-33), assists (46-32), service aces (2-0) and digs (42-37). Pitt held the Wolfpack to .162 hitting, while the Panthers produced a .346 hitting percentage.
SCOUTING LOUISVILLE
- Since losing senior star Melanie McHenry to a season-ending knee injury, the Cardinals have gone 5-5. Louisville is looking to extend a three-match win streak, sweeping their last three at home against Syracuse, Notre Dame and Miami.
- Louisville's last loss came Nov. 10 at Florida State (3-1).
- The Cardinals are 5-5 when playing on the road this season, dropping three of their last four away matches.
- Aiko Jones is the team leader with 2.99 kills per set.
UP NEXT
- The No. 2 Panthers will learn their seed for the 2019 NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship during the Selection Show, set for 8:30 p.m. ET Sunday on ESPNU. Pitt earned the ACC's Automatic Qualifier Bid to the tournament.
