PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's basketball program announced the addition of four new staff members on Friday afternoon. Joining the Panthers staff for the 2019-20 campaign will be Brittany Buchheit (athletic trainer), Sean Sullivan (director of video) and Imani Wright (assistant director of basketball operations).
"I am really excited about the new staff members we have added to our team," said second-year head coach Lance White. "They bring an energy, knowledge and a commitment to excellence that will continue to move this program forward."
Buchheit will serve as the Panthers athletic trainer after spending her last five years as the athletic trainer at Binghamton University for the women's basketball and women's tennis programs. She earned her MS in sport psychology from California University of Pennsylvania in 2014 and her BS in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012. The Pennsylvania native is licensed in both New York and Pennsylvania while also holding a National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification.
Sullivan will take over the role as director of video for the Panthers for the 2019-20 campaign after spending the last two years at Penn State as the women's basketball director of scouting & digital technology. Sullivan will oversee all scouting video operations and analytics for the team while also assisting coaches with the breakdown of film using Sportscode and creating internal graphics for recruiting needs.
Prior to Penn State, Sullivan spent six seasons at Iowa working for the Hawkeyes women's basketball program in a variety of capacities including team manager for four seasons and video coordinator for two seasons.
Wright joins the Panthers as assistant director of basketball operations for the 2019-20 season. Wright played two seasons (2016-18) for White at Florida State after transferring to the Seminoles from Baylor where she spent the first two seasons of her collegiate career. Wright will assist the director of basketball operations with coordinating travel logistics, practice and game preparation and community service activities for the team. She will also assist with NCAA compliance and academics while assisting administration with the planning and execution of Pitt women's basketball camps.
At Florida State, Wright blossomed into a two-year starter who netted 898 career points while connecting on 171 three-pointers, fourth most in program history, across just 67 games. The Hooks, Texas native was an honorable mention AP All-American and First Team All-ACC performer during her senior campaign in 2017-18 after averaging 16.3 points and notching a program-record 100 three-pointers. She was selected with the 26th pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft by the Phoenix Mercury and appeared in one game in the 2018 season.
The Panthers will open their 2019-20 campaign on Friday, November 1 as they welcome the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown to the Petersen Events Center for a 7:00 pm exhibition game.
