Softball Announces Fall Competition Schedule

Panthers Set for First Games Under New Head Coach
PITTSBURGH – First-year head softball coach Jodi Hermanek announced the 2018 fall schedule Wednesday afternoon, which features four home games as well as three road competitions.
Pitt will face two local teams in Slippery Rock and Saint Francis (PA), in addition to Wright State, Ohio State and Kent State. All home games will be played at Vartabedian Field in the Petersen Sports Complex and will be free to the public.
The Panthers will begin the fall season at home on Sunday, Sept. 16 with a doubleheader against The Rock beginning at 1 p.m.
The following Sunday, Sept. 23, Pitt will head to Columbus, Ohio for two games. The Panthers will face the Raiders in the first game at 1:15 p.m. and then take on the host Buckeyes at 3:45 p.m.
Pitt's final home games will take place Saturday, Sept. 29 at Vartabedian Field as the Panthers welcome the Red Flash for a doubleheader. The first game is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
The squad will close out the fall season Sunday, Oct. 7 when they head to Kent, Ohio to face the Golden Flashes. The two teams will play a 10-inning game beginning at 2 p.m.
