Pitt Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Distinction

PITTSBURGH—The Pitt men's and women's swimming & diving programs both earned the honor of being named Scholar All-America teams for the Spring 2018 semester, as announced by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
With among the youngest rosters in all of collegiate swimming & diving, both of Pitt's squads were able to surpass the 3.0 grade-point average mark this spring while improving their cumulative team GPAs.
The Pitt women's team posted a 3.40 team GPA for the Spring 2018 semester, while the Panthers' men's team earned a 3.02 overall mark in the most recent term.
To be honored as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs have have achieved a grade-point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester.
Led by Rachel Brown and Brian Lovasik, who won Pitt swimming & diving's Academic Excellence Awards at the annual team banquet, among many other Panthers with strong GPAs, head coach John Hargis' program continues to be among Pitt's strongest athletic teams in the classroom.
As the Panthers enter the 2018-19 season, Hargis' third at the helm of Pitt swimming & diving, a team that lost only four seniors from last campaign is poised for another year of shattering program records—both in and out of the pool.
