PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field teams will compete at their final qualifying meets before the ACC Indoor Championships at the Kent State Qualifier in Kent, Ohio, and the SPIRE Division I Classic in Geneva, Ohio, Saturday.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
- At Kent State, Saturday's field events will commence at noon with women's weight throw. The running events will start with the women's 5000 at 1:00 p.m. The full schedule can be found at KentStateSports.com.
- At the SPIRE Classic, distance events will begin with the men's 3000m at 12:20 p.m. The full schedule can be found at SPIREInstitute.org.
LAST TIME OUT
- Two school records fell for Pitt track and field to close out the Meyo Invitational at Loftus Sports Center Saturday, Feb. 3.
- Sophomore Nick Wolk took down a 27-year-old record in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:07.09, besting the previous mark of 8:09.52 set by Keith Dowling in 1991. Wolk placed eighth in the event.
- Seniors Morgan Harvey, Quadaisha Newkirk, Laila Ismail and Desiree Garland handily won the 4x400m relay in a school-record time of 3:35.73. The mark broke the previous record of 3:36.43 set by Zoey Whittington, Taylor Ellis-Watson, Arielle Fonrose and Jonique Lawrence in 2012.

- The Panthers will travel to Clemson, S.C., for the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships Feb. 22-24.
