Five Panthers Place in Top 10
GIBSONIA, Pa. – Five Panthers placed in the top 10 to lead Pitt women's cross country to victory at the Chatham Eden Hall Invitational Saturday on the Chatham University Eden Hall campus.
"The young ladies that competed today did an excellent job," women's cross country coach Adam Bray said. "They executed their race plans and were able to finish really well. It was great to see Emily Phillips finish in the top three. She has dealt with some injuries recently so I was happy for her to run so well today."
Junior Emily Phillips was the top finisher for Pitt in the 6K race, placing third with a time of 24:34.40. Classmate Stephanie Lednak was next for the Panthers, finishing sixth at 25:03.35. Sophomore Sarah Frick and junior Natalie Hilton took seventh (25:03.69) and eighth (25:07.54), respectively. Freshman Ally Brunton rounded out the top 10, coming in 10th at 25:14.46.
Pitt scored 34 points to top the field of five teams, which included California University of Pennsylvania (39), Robert Morris (77), Chatham (116) and Carlow (117).
