WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team is set to face its second Atlantic Coast Conference opponent of 2017 when the Panthers travel to No. 4 Wake Forest Saturday, Sept. 16. Conference action will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Spry Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Pitt enters Saturday's match 2-3-0 overall while the fourth-ranked Demon Deacons hold a 5-1-0 overall record.

THE SERIES
- The Panthers and Demon Deacons clash for just the third time in program history Saturday.
- Wake Forest leads the series 2-0, with the last win coming in 2015.
- This will mark the first time second-year head coach Jay Vidovich will coach against his former team. Vidovich previously led the Demon Deacons for 21 seasons leading them to a national title in 2007.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Panthers fell 2-1 to the 10th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels Saturday, Sept. 9 in the conference opener.
- North Carolina struck first in the 11th minute.
- Pitt freshman Edward Kizza netted the lone goal for the Panthers in the 31st minute, tying the game 1-1.
- The Tar Heels added the game-winner in the 55th minute.
- Pitt out-shot the top-10 opponent 14-9, while drawing eight total corners.
SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACS
- Wake Forest enters the weekend on a two-game winning streak as the team turned in a 3-0 victory over Appalachian State Wednesday, Sept. 12.
- The Demon Deacons dropped to No. 4 this week in the United Soccer Coaches Poll as they were previously ranked No. 2.
- Wake Forest has recorded 20 total goals so far in 2017 and are led by senior Luis Argudo with four goals through six games.
- The Demon Deacons are coming off a successful 2016 season, earning a runner-up finish in the College Cup and were crowned 2016 ACC Champions.
- Wake Forest will be without a trio of top talents in Jacori Hayes, Alec Ferrell and Ian Harkes, all of whom were drafted to the MLS.
- The Deacs capped off the historic year 19-3-3 overall while going 5-1-2 in the ACC.

- Head coach Jay Vidovich enters his second year at the helm of the Pitt soccer program and his 23rd season overall on the sidelines.
- The two-time NSCAA Coach of the Year has produced over 35 professional players, 21 All-Americans and five ACC Player of the Year honorees.
- Prior to Pitt, Vidovich spent 21 seasons at Wake Forest where the team captured the 2007 National Championship, made four College Cup appearances and claimed five ACC regular season titles.
