Panthers will Play Five Teams this Fall
2017 Fall Schedule
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh softball team is set to participate in four exhibition series this fall to help prepare for the upcoming 2018 season. The Panthers will host three of their four doubleheaders at Vartabedian Field in the Petersen Sports Complex.
Pitt will face two local teams in Slippery Rock and Saint Francis (PA), along with West Virginia Wesleyan, Cleveland State and Toledo.
The Panthers will begin the fall season at home on Sunday, Sept. 17 with a doubleheader against The Rock beginning at 12 p.m.
The following Sunday, Sept. 23, Pitt will welcome the Red Flash to Vartabedian Field with the first game of the doubleheader slated to begin at 1 p.m.
The Panthers will conclude their home slate Sunday, Oct. 1 against West Virginia Wesleyan. The two-game series will begin at 1 p.m.
Pitt will close out the fall season with their lone road trip Sunday, Oct. 8 when they head to Cleveland State to face the Vikings at 1:30 p.m. prior to taking on the Rockets at 4 p.m.
The Panthers are set to return all but one starter from the 2016 season.
