Kelly, Panthers Finish Strong at Georgia Tech

FINAL RESULTS
ATLANTA - Pitt had a strong showing at the Yellow Jacket Invitational. The Panthers recorded 10 top-three finishes, including four from the men's team and six from the women's team.
The day was highlighted by Amy Kelly's first place finish in the 5000m race with a time of 17:19.88. She set a personal best time with this result, and it was her first first-place finish since April of last year.
Kelly Hayes and Matt McGoey found success in the 2000m Steeplechase race, both finishing second in their respective events. Hayes (7:02.46) and McGoey (6:05.02) both set personal records and both recorded a career best finish in the 2000m Steeplechase event.
Sydney Alderman also grabbed a top-three finish, claiming second place in the Javelin throw. Her effort (40.13m) gave her a new personal record for the event and her best career finish in the event as well.
Other top finishes for Pitt included:
- Robert Quinby, fourth in the men's Javelin (53.59m)
- Brylan Slay, fourth place in the men's 800m (1:56.44)
- Anja Weiler, fourth place in the women's 800m (2:15.21)
- Jabari Michael-Khensu, fifth place in the men's 100m (10.86)
Both of the Panther's relay teams performed well today, each earning a second place finish in one event. The men's 4x100 Relay team of Jabari Michael-Khensu, Jamaree Murray, Josh McDonald, and Chris Spadaro finished at 41.56. The women's 4x400 Relay team of Morgan Harvey, Desiree Garland, Laila Ismail, and Quadaisha Newkirk finished at 3:43.94.

The Panthers will return to Pittsburgh for the CMU Invitational at Gesling Stadium Friday and Saturday, March 24-25.
