Pearson Named EAGL Specialist of the Week

PITTSBURGH - After winning her third consecutive vault title in a quad-meet against NC State, UNC and William & Mary this past weekend, senior Tracey Pearson has been named the EAGL Specialist of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
In the meet, Pearson not only posted a score of 9.875 to lead competition in the vault, but also tied for fifth on the floor exercise with a score of 9.850. Her score on the floor was her third-straight performance with a 9.800 or higher. Additionally, she added a 9.625 on bars.
Pearson now ranks third in the EAGL and fourth in the region on vault with her average score of 9.825. She is also ranked fifth in the EAGL and ninth in the region with an average floor routine score of 9.830.
The award is the fourth individual EAGL honor of the season for the Panthers as Lucy Brett has previously been named the EAGL Specialist of the Week and Alecia Petrikis and Rachel Dugan have each earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Pearson and the Panthers will return to action on Friday, traveling to Washington, D.C. for a five-team hosted by George Washington. The Panthers will face off against the Colonials, as well as Iowa, Maryland and William & Mary.
