Aprile Announces 2018 Recruiting Class

Panthers Ink Four Incoming Student-Athletes
PITTSBURGH – Pitt head softball coach Holly Aprile announced Thursday that four student-athletes will join the University of Pittsburgh softball program as a part of the squad's 2018 recruiting class. The Panthers will welcome Hannah Bach, Abby Edwards, Katlyn Pavlick and Meghan Schorman.
"Our 2018 class stands out for its versatility and athleticism," said Aprile. "We have a great group of true athletes that can play multiple positions, hit and pitch. We are very excited about this class and their ability to come in and make an impact right away."
Hannah Bach / Catcher, Utility / Smithton, Pa. / Yough Senior High School
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Yough Senior High School where she played softball and volleyball … Three-year starter for the softball team, playing shortstop and batting lead-off … Led Yough to its first PIAA AAA State Championship in school history in any sport in 2016 during her sophomore year … Helped Yough to runner-up finishes in both 2015 and 2017 in the WPIAL Championships … Three-time section champion and three-time state playoff qualifier … Earned All-State honors in 2016, while breaking her schools steal record … All-Section honoree in 2017 for her standout play at shortstop.
CLUB
Played travel ball for the Ohio Outlaws … Led her team to the PGF National Sweet 16 Qualifier in 2017.

Daughter of Ken and Joni Bach … Has one sibling, Jarett.

Attended Dwight Township High School where she played softball … Led her team to three-straight conference championships, freshman through junior year … Earned Second Team All-State honors following her sophomore year, before earning First Team All-State accolades at the conclusion of her junior year … Awarded First Team All-Conference honors and was named Team MVP after both her sophomore and junior seasons … Three-year varsity letter winner.

Plays travel ball for the Mizuno Hawks … Led her team to a Triple Crown Midwest Championship in 2017 … Competed at PFG Premier Nationals and Triple Crown Nationals in 2016.

Daughter of Dan and Rachel Edwards … Has two younger siblings, Katy and Samuel.

Attended South Park High School where she played softball … Named PIAA AAA Player of the Year after leading South Park to a State Championship during her junior season … Guided her team to a 2017 WPIAL AAA Section Championship following an undefeated regular season, prior to reaching the semi-finals of the WPIAL Championship … Led South Park to a runner-up finish in the 2016 WPIAL AA Championship after being crowned WPIAL AA Section Champions … Two-Time First Team All-State and three-time WPIAL First Team All-Section honoree.

Played travel ball for the Ohio Outlaws … Earned a fifth place finish at PGF Nationals Platinum in 2017 and also at the Boulder IDT in 2016.
