PITTSBURGH – Pitt women's basketball (5-1, 0-0 ACC) set a school record for 3-pointers made in a single game with 15 in an 87-47 domination of Arkansas State (2-3, 0-0 Sun Belt) Saturday night at Petersen Events Center.
The Panthers shot a scorching 68.2 percent (15-of-22) from long range and 52.3 percent (34-of-65) from the field en route to the win. Of the 34 made field goals, 29 were assisted. Pitt never trailed.
Seven different Panthers connected from long range: junior Kauai Bradley (3-of-6), freshman Kyla Nelson (3-of-3), freshman Pika Rodriguez (3-of-4), sophomore Alayna Gribble (2-of-3), junior Cassidy Walsh (2-of-3), redshirt junior Yacine Diop (1-of-2) and sophomore Jasmine Whitney (1-of-1).
Diop led six Panthers in double-figure scoring with 16 points. Bradley ended with a season-high 13, Walsh ended with a career-high 12, Gribble and Nelson each had 11 and Kalista Walters had 10.
The 40-point win marked Pitt's largest margin of victory against a Division I opponent since defeating Youngstown State by 52 points (89-37) Dec. 2, 2009, in Youngstown, Ohio.

The Red Wolves answered with an 8-0 run of their own, but Diop rolled in a layup as time expired to give Pitt a 17-13 lead at the first break.
An 11-2 run with eight unanswered points for the Panthers from 7:52 to 2:26 during the second period gave Pitt its largest lead of the half (14), up 32-18. Bradley and Gribble hit triples during the stretch, as Pitt went 4-of-7 for the half from long range. The Panthers went to the locker room with an 11-point lead, up 34-23.
