PITTSBURGH – The Pitt men's and women's cross country teams will get a preview of the ACC Championships site when they visit E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky., for the Pre-National Invitational Saturday morning.

The first race of the day will be the Men's Seeded 8K at 10 a.m., followed by the Women's Seeded 6K at 10:45 a.m. The Men's Black Unseeded 8K will be at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Women's Black Unseeded 6K at 12:15 p.m.

A recap from the meet, including results and times, will be posted to PittsburghPanthers.com. Live results and a live stream will be on FloTrack, available with a subscription.

Traveling to Louisville will be:

Men: freshmen Andrew Burroughs and Zach Lefever, sophomores Drew Glick, Jackson Morton and Nick Wolk, juniors Sebastian Curtin, Ryan Hughes, Matt McGoey and Nate Sloan, and seniors Billy Caldwell and Aaron Lauer.
Women: freshman Mikaela Vlasic, sophomore Sam Shields, juniors Miranda Salvo, Gillian Schriever and Makenzie Zeh, and seniors Kelly Hayes, Amy Kelly, Emily Loeffelholz, Rebecca Peters, Joslin Sellers, Melanie Vlasic and Anja Weiler.

SCOUTING THE FIELD

Fifty-one men's and 54 women's squads will compete in four races on Saturday morning.
The men's 8K races will feature runners from nationally-ranked No. 2 BYU, No. 19 Georgetown and No. 24 Ole Miss, while the women's 6K events will entertain ranked teams from No. 4 Michigan, No. 9 Arkansas and No. 25 Georgia.

LAST TIME OUT

Senior Melanie Vlasic picked up an individual win in the women's cross country 5K in her final race at Schenley Park Saturday (Oct. 7). The Hatfield, Pa., native led the way for Pitt at the CMU Invitational with a time of 18:26.2, marking the second win of her college cross country career and her first since the UB Stampede Invitational on Sept. 12, 2015.
Three other Panthers placed in the top 20, including seniors Amy Kelly (fifth, 18:47.5) and Rebecca Peters (11th, 19:12.0), as well as freshman Mikaela Vlasic (17th, 19:34.2).
Senior Caroline DeFrank also competed in her final Schenley Park race and finished 32nd at 20:08.1.

UP NEXT

The Panthers will return to Sawyer Park for the ACC Cross Country Championships, hosted by the University of Louisville Friday, Oct. 27. The site will also host the NCAA Division I Championships on Nov. 18.
