PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh softball team welcomes Saint Francis (PA) on Sunday, Sept. 18 for a doubleheader. The series is set to take place at Vartabedian Field in the Petersen Sports Complex with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Panthers will look to carry over their bats from last weekend as they defeated Slippery Rock 15-1 and 9-1 in a two-game series. Sophomore standout Giorgiana Zeremenko, who became Pitt's all-time leader in single-season homeruns this past season, led the Panthers with five hits in six at-bats - three of which were long balls.
In regular season matchups, Pitt has competed against the Red Flash 31 times since 1998. The Panthers are 21-10 in all-time meetings.
