Ninth Annual Pink the Petersen Game Set for Sunday

PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh women's basketball team will host its ninth annual Pink the Petersen Breast Cancer Awareness Game on Sunday, February 21, at 3 p.m. vs. No. 23 Syracuse.
The Panthers have once again teamed up with Susan G. Komen Pittsburgh, UPMC Health Plan and the Play 4Kay initiative to help fight the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world. Tickets are $5, and a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the Susan G. Komen organization and the Play 4Kay initiative.
Doors open at 1:30 p.m. with plenty of activities inside, including: face painters, balloon artists, airbrush tattoos, poster making stations and much more. The first 2,000 fans will receive a pink Oakland Zoo t-shirt, as well as the first 1,000 students.
There will be an on-court recognition for all breast cancer survivors at halftime. If you are a breast cancer survivor and would like to be recognized, please call the Pittsburgh Panthers ticket office by 5 p.m. on Friday at 800-643-PITT for more information.
Kay Yow was a legendary coach at NC State and was a founding member and past president of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and passed away on January 24, 2009 after facing her third bout with the disease. Click here to learn more about Kay Yow.
