Kayla Lund | Pasadena, Calif.
Lund is a student at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in Flintridge, Calif., and will join the Panthers in 2017. Throughout her four years as a standout outside hitter for FSHA, the Pasadena, Calif., native collected many accolades both in the state of California and at the national level. Lund was a three-time Mission League MVP, named to the California All-State Team as a sophomore, named All-Area Player of the Year as a junior, and became a four-time All-American when she was recently named to the AVCA Under Armour Girls High School All-America Third Team.
"Kayla is a six-rotation outside hitter with a big arm," said Fisher. "She is a skilled player who can beat you with all aspects of her game. She fits in well with our system of play and we expect her to have an immediate impact on the court."
Lund has experienced success with her club team SG Elite Roshambo as well. A member of the team for five seasons, Lund and SG Elite have participated in the Junior Nationals Open four times, including two top-five finishes in 2013 (third) and 2015 (fifth). Lund was named to Prep Volleyball's 2017 Senior Aces, highlighting the nation's top performers and was named to the 2015 AVCA Phenom List.
"I chose Pitt because I loved the team, the coaching staff, the city and the strength of their volleyball program," said Lund. "I immediately felt welcomed and knew I would be challenged at Pitt, both academically and athletically."
Chinaza Ndee | Jersey Village, Texas
Jersey Village, Texas, native Ndee will also join Pitt in 2017. Ndee, another strong outside hitter, was named team captain of The Kinkaid School Falcons during her senior year. She joined her fellow recruiting classmate Lund as a member of the 2016 AVCA's Under Armour Girls High School All-America team as an honorable mention. During her four years at The Kinkaid School, Ndee was named to the All-Southwest Preparatory Conference team three times and named to the All-South Zone twice.
"Chinaza is a powerful front row player, versatile enough to play all three positions," said Fisher. "She is a fierce competitor that we expect to score points for us right away."
Ndee currently plays club for Houston Juniors Elite. She has accumulated multiple awards during her time with team, including being named to the AVCA Phenom List as a sophomore, named a Top 50 Junior Recruit the following year, and most recently was ranked No. 80 on Prep Volleyball's Senior Aces Top 100.
Excelling in the classroom as well, Ndee has been named a National Merit Commended Scholar, an AP Scholar and awarded a Simmons Leadership Scholarship.
"I chose to commit to the Panther because of Pitt's strong academic reputation, competitive volleyball team, and attractive urban campus," said Ndee. "It has a great blend of all three."
